Job summary

Private Advertiser in Kuching, Sarawak seeks a Senior Accountant to join our team on a full-time/contract basis at Vista Industrial Park. You will oversee financial statement preparation, month-end close, and reporting duties to support management decisions.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting role, and strong proficiency in financial analysis and Autocount. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior accounting role, preferably in Financial Accounting & Reporting.
• Proficient in financial reporting, GAAP, and financial analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Autocount accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preparation and summary of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
• Oversee month-end and year-end close for timely reporting.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Provide financial advice to business units and management.
• Mentor junior accounting staff, if applicable.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team . This full-time/Contract basis role will be based in Vista Industrial Park, Kuching, Sarawak. The location is between Stutong and Pending. Safe and hygiene working environment.

What you'll be doing

Supervise, Ensure smooth preparation and summary of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Oversee the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting

Monitoring accounts payable, accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections

Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies

Provide financial advice and support to business units and management

Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, if applicable

What we're looking for

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the Financial Accounting & Reporting industry

Strong proficiency in financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial analysis

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

Demonstrated experience in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial processes

Proficient in the use of accounting software (especially Autocount)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
