Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan BGC Group (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd represents a well-established electronics and engineering firm seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely finance processes. You will manage general ledger, month-end close, tax and audits, and prepare management reports with a focus on accuracy and controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 6–7 years of relevant experience, with SAP S/4HANA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 6–7 years of relevant experience in audit and finance.
• Experience in a service-oriented industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and month-end closing.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset activities.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, prepayments, taxes and reconciliations.
• Review monthly balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
• Manage cash-flow reporting and support collection-related activities.
• Oversee accounting processes prepared by the finance team.
• Prepare year-end financial reporting packages and coordinate audits.
• Manage statutory compliance requirements and tax filings.
• Prepare management reports, budgets and variance analysis.
• Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Train and mentor junior team members.

Job description

We are representing our client, a well-established company in the Electronics & Engineering industry, in the search for an experienced Senior Accountant (Finance).

The successful candidate will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance activities while supporting accurate, timely and effective finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset activities.

Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, prepayments, taxes and reconciliations.

Review monthly balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.

Manage cash-flow reporting and support collection-related activities.

Oversee accounting processes prepared by the finance team.

Prepare year-end financial reporting packages in accordance with company policies and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards.

Coordinate statutory audits, audit queries and finalisation of audited financial statements.

Manage SSM, tax and other statutory compliance requirements.

Prepare management reports, cost-centre reporting, budgets and variance analysis.

Maintain accounting procedures, chart of accounts and internal controls.

Train and mentor junior team members when required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

6–7 years of relevant experience in audit and finance.

Experience in a similar service-oriented industry is preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, month‑end closing and statutory requirements.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience using SAP S/4HANA is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

Able to manage multiple priorities and work within strict deadlines.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively.
