Job summary

Bullstate Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Tanjung Kidurong, Sarawak. The role involves overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with MFRS, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions.

You will manage the general ledger, supervise accounting staff, and liaise with auditors and regulators to maintain financial health and transparency across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA Malaysia or equivalent accounting credential.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and accounting best practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel with advanced spreadsheet functions.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Experience supervising and developing accounting team members.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliation and aging analysis
• Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Support the audit process by preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and professional development
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities and regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards and regulatory obligations
