Job summary

KOS Singapore is seeking a Sales Manager (Modern Trade) to drive expansion in Malaysia, interacting with supermarket buyers and distributors to strengthen market presence. The role focuses on relationship-building, pricing negotiations, and effective promotional execution across modern trade channels.

You will lead account plans, monitor performance, and identify new opportunities while coordinating with distributors to ensure stock and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years FMCG experience in Modern Trade.
• Experience with retail buyers and distributors.
• Strong shelf execution, merchandising and promos knowledge.
• Willingness to travel for buyer meetings and store visits.

KOS Singapore is working with a well established FMCG company which is looking to expand its coverage in Malaysia and is looking for a Sales Manager (Modern Trade) to be a part of their team.

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the company’s Malaysia expansion, working closely with retail buyers, distributors and other stakeholders to strengthen its market presence.

The Job:

• Build and strengthen direct relationships with supermarket and modern trade buyers.
• Negotiate pricing, trading terms, promotional activities and display placements.
• Develop account plans and review sales performance with retail partners.
• Work closely with the team and distributors to ensure stock availability, timely deliveries and effective promotional execution.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess shelf presence, product availability, pricing and merchandising standards.
• Identify new retail account opportunities and monitor market trends, shopper needs and competitor activity.
• Track promotional results and recommend improvements to support sustainable sales growth.

The Talent:

• Minimum in Diploma, Bachelor's in Business or proven related experience.
• Min. 5 years of experience in the FMCG industry (Modern trade).
• Experience working directly with retail buyers and coordinating with distributors.
• Hands-on knowledge of shelf execution, merchandising, stock availability and promotional displays
• Open to travel regularly for buyer meetings and store visits.
