Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Malaysia is seeking an Additive Specialist to drive lubricant additives sales, partner with R&D for solutions, and expand our regional distributor network across automotive, industrial, marine, and EV fluid segments.

The role requires 2–5 years in lubricant-related roles, a chemical background, and willingness to travel across Malaysia and ASEAN for customer visits and events.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in lubricant sales, technical service, or blending.
• Strong understanding of lubricant fundamentals and base oils.

Key Accountabilities

• Build Key Relationships: Connect with decision-makers at lubricant manufacturers, national oil companies, independent blenders, and regional distributors.
• Distributor Leadership: Empower distributor networks with product knowledge, joint customer visits, and commercial tools.
• Market Intelligence: Track industry shifts, regulatory developments, and emerging trends like EV fluids and bio-lubricants.
• Account & Pipeline Management: Manage sales forecasts, annual operating plans, pricing, and CRM updates to ensure sustainable pipeline growth.

Work Experience

• Industry Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in lubricant sales, technical service, formulation support, or blending operations (finished lubricants or additives).
• Base Knowledge: Practical understanding of lubricant fundamentals, greases, or base oils, combined with an eagerness to master additive chemistry.
• Education: Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field.
• Growth Mindset: High adaptability, strong communication skills, and an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel across Malaysia for customer and blender visits, with occasional travel within ASEAN for regional workshops and conferences.
