Job summary

Calia Technology Sdn Bhd invites an experienced Sales Engineer to drive opportunities for physical testing instruments and solutions in Malaysia. You will work closely with customers to understand testing needs and guide them from enquiry to order, coordinating with suppliers and our technical team.

The role requires deriving quotations, proposals, and tender submissions while maintaining strong customer relationships and achieving targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Applied Science, Chemistry, or related.
• 4–5 years of relevant experience as a Sales Engineer in physical testing instruments or lab equipment.
• Ability to understand customer testing needs and explain technical product information clearly.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and customer relationship skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently toward sales targets.
• Willing to travel for customer visits, demonstrations, and business development activities.
• Possess a valid driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell physical testing instruments to new and existing customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with customers in manufacturing, laboratories, research institutions, and other relevant industries.
• Conduct customer visits to understand testing requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Prepare quotations, technical proposals, and tender submissions according to customer requirements.
• Conduct product presentations and coordinate equipment demonstrations with suppliers and the technical team.
• Follow up on enquiries, quotations, and sales opportunities to achieve agreed sales targets.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for repeat business.
• Coordinate with suppliers, service, and operations teams on technical enquiries, delivery, installation, and customer training.
• Support payment collection by following up with customers in coordination with the Finance team.
• Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular reports on customer activities, sales pipelines, and forecasts.
