Our client "Sam McCoy Manufacturing Sdn Bhd" is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team!
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful water and wastewater solutions while developing commercial and technical expertise. Based in Shah Alam, the role offers exposure to engineering products and projects across industrial and utility‑related sectors, with a salary range of MYR 4,000–5,000.
About Our ClientSam McCoy Manufacturing focuses on water and wastewater treatment solutions and manufactures water gates and wastewater equipment. The company supports projects involving water recycling and reuse, flood mitigation, raw water harvesting, wastewater pollution abatement and greenhouse gas emission reduction across industries including palm oil, food processing, municipal water and wastewater, mining, mini‑hydro, dams and river management. Team members can gain exposure to product technologies from the USA, Europe and Malaysia, supported by the company’s strengths in engineering, design, fabrication and services.
What you’ll be doing?
- Solution selling: Present suitable technical solutions to prospects and support the execution of strategic deals.
- Business development: Conduct market research and build new business opportunities across relevant industries.
- Stakeholder relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Quotes and tenders: Prepare quotations, costing and tender proposals, then follow up closely with consultants and contractors.
- Exhibitions and coordination: Support exhibitions and liaise with other departments on preparation and execution.
- Target delivery: Work with a clear focus on sales and order targets while contributing to overall business performance.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly reports to support informed decision‑making.
Who are they looking for?
- Engineering foundation: A minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, is advantageous.
- Relevant sales experience: At least two years of sales engineering experience, ideally within mechanical or electrical engineering, industrial or utility‑related sectors, is preferred.
- Transferable technical capability: Candidates from non‑engineering backgrounds with strong technical knowledge and relevant skill sets are welcome to apply.
- Technical communication: Strong technical skills, communication, public relations and presentation abilities will support effective engagement with stakeholders.
- Team and target focus: An effective team player with a hardworking, self‑motivated and goal‑driven approach will be well suited to the role.
- Learning mindset: A positive attitude towards learning, work tasks and professional relationships is valued, with product training provided.
- English proficiency: Proficiency in English is required for liaising with consultants, contractors and other internal and external stakeholders, as well as preparing proposals and reports.
- Water and wastewater exposure: Experience liaising with Indah Water Konsortium and involvement in related water or wastewater scopes of work would be an advantage.
- Commercial and technical selling: Experience in sales negotiation, contract management and technical demonstrations would be beneficial.
- Palm oil industry exposure: Experience with palm oil mills or selling engineering solutions and equipment to palm oil processing facilities or similar process‑heavy industrial environments would be welcomed.
