Job summary

NBT Base & Pave Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Sales Engineer for its established subsidiary to drive growth by bridging technical engineering solutions and commercial clients. You will identify new market opportunities, present soil stabilization technologies to consultants, contractors, and developers, and provide technical support throughout the sales process.

Travel across Malaysia will be required as you engage with consultants, main contractors, and government bodies to secure projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Highway/Pavement Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in civil infrastructure, road works, pavement design, or geotechnical soil applications.
• 1–2 years in commercial engineering, project estimation, technical sales, or infrastructure business development.
• Strong grips on structural mechanics, soil mechanics, asphalt testing, and design codes.
• Full professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Present and pitch pavement solutions to consultants, PMOs, contractors, and concessionaires.
• Conduct technical briefings and showcases highlighting cost-benefit, environmental advantages, and logistics of NBT materials.
• Collaborate with client engineers to analyze soil profiles, review CBR data, and design stabilization dosages.
• Serve as a bridge to R&D to tailor product behavior for tropical climates/hard environments.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotes, and compliance documentation.
• Identify and target municipal, private, and federal projects across Malaysia to maintain a strong pipeline.
• Provide on-site technical monitoring during initial application to ensure performance and build client relationships.

NBT Base & Pave Sdn Bhd is seeking a Sales Engineer for our established subsidiary NBT Marketing Sdn. Bhd. to drive business growth by bridging technical engineering solutions and commercial clients. You will identify new market opportunities, present soil stabilization technologies to consultants, contractors, and developers, and provide technical support throughout the sales process.

Key responsibilities

Present and pitch NBT's proprietary pavement solutions (including RHAzyme and special binders) to civil engineering consultants, project management offices, main contractors, and concessionaires

Conduct technical briefings and high-impact technical showcases to demonstrate the structural cost-benefit, environmental advantages, and logistical superiority of NBT road materials over conventional methods

Collaborate directly with client engineers to analyze project-specific soil profiles, review California Bearing Ratio (CBR) laboratory parameters, and engineer optimized stabilization dosages

Serve as the direct bridge to NBT's internal R&D laboratory, relaying project-specific soil properties and site conditions to customize product behaviors for unique tropical climates or high-stress environments

Prepare precise technical proposals, structured commercial quotes, and compliance documentation

Proactively trace and target municipal road maintenance, private construction developments, and federal infrastructure contracts across Malaysia to maintain a robust sales pipeline

Provide primary technical monitoring and oversight to contractor execution teams during initial on-site application phases to guarantee material performance and cultivate deep client relationships

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Highway/Pavement Engineering, or a highly related engineering specialty

2 to 5 years of active professional experience within civil infrastructure, road works, structural pavement design, or geotechnical soil application fields

At least 1-2 years spent in a commercial engineering, project estimation, technical sales, or infrastructure business development capacity

Solid technical grip on structural mechanics, soil mechanics, asphalt/bituminous testing parameters, and structural design codes

Full professional fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia

Valid driving license, own functional transport, and willingness to travel across regional sites

Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer is highly preferred

Existing professional relationships or familiar networks within Malaysian concessionaires (e.g., Roadcare, Prolintas, Propel), local municipal councils, or JKR divisions is an exceptional advantage
