Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a highly competent Project Manager to lead civil engineering projects focusing on large-scale earthworks, slope protection, and infrastructure development. The role demands deep technical expertise and hands-on leadership of an internal site team, coordinating with external consultants and clients to ensure flawless execution.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (BEM registered) with 5–8 years of PM experience in civil works, strong soil

• Strong technical knowledge in soil mechanics and geotechnical stabilization.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary site teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to interface with clients and consultants.
• Valid driving license and willingness to be stationed at project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous reviews of civil structural drawings, layout plans, earthworks cross-sections, and survey calculations; proactively identify discrepancies, design flaws, or constructability issues before they impact the site.
• Provide strong technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to subordinate site teams, including Site Agents, Project Engineers, and Site Supervisors; drive accountability and maintain high site execution standards.
• Act as the primary technical and managerial liaison to effectively negotiate, troubleshoot, and chair progress meetings with Clients, Consultants, and Local Authorities.
• Defend the company's technical positions and variation orders (VOs).
• Partner closely with internal Senior Management and supporting departments to ensure accurate technical material specifications and smooth resource allocation.
• Manage daily operations for multi-disciplinary civil projects, ensuring seamless coordination across earthworks, slope stabilization, and infrastructure stages.
• Supervise and enforce strict quality control over complex slope protection works, including soil nailing, guniting, and retaining wall installations, ensuring adherence to geotechnical specifications.
• Oversee the successful construction and delivery of internal and external infrastructure elements, specifically civil roadworks and drainage systems.
• Develop master project schedules, track critical milestones, manage the project budget, and verify subcontractor progress claims to minimize cost overruns.

Our core operations specialize in large-scale earthworks, specialized slope protection, and comprehensive infrastructure development. This is a role for a technically heavy Project Manager. Beyond managing timelines and budgets, you must possess deep, uncompromised technical expertise in CIVIL ENGINEERING. You will lead an internal technical site team, manage complex site geotechnics ranging from deep excavation to technical slope stabilization, and serve as the main technical and managerial point of contact for external consultants and clients to ensure flawless execution.

Key responsibilities

Conduct rigorous reviews of civil structural drawings, layout plans, earthworks cross-sections, and survey calculations; proactively identify discrepancies, design flaws, or constructability issues before they impact the site

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (must be registered/recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia - BEM)

Minimum of 5 to 8 years of project management experience in civil engineering, with a solid, proven track record specifically in mass earthworks, slope protection and infrastructure

Strong, comprehensive technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, soil mechanics, and geotechnical stabilization methods

Proven experience managing, structuring, and leading subordinate engineering and supervisory teams on active, fast-paced sites

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to professionally interface with diverse audiences—from corporate clients and technical consultants to internal management and site crews

Valid driving license and willingness be stationed at project sites
