Job summary

Grundfos is seeking a Sales Development Engineer for CBS Malaysia in Shah Alam to drive demand generation and specification influence on key building and infrastructure projects. You will build strong relationships with consulting engineers, developers, and contractors to secure Grundfos specifications from design through order.

• Bachelor's degree in a science-based discipline required.
• Minimum 3+ years in commercial building services in Malaysia.
• Strong network with Malaysia-based M&E consultants and proven track record influencing specifications.

Responsibilities

• Drive demand generation and specification influence for Grundfos solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with consultants, developers and contractors to secure Grundfos specs.
• Conduct technical presentations, BIM/CAD design sessions and consultant seminars.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers, CSSC, Application Engineers and dealers from design to tender stages.
• Monitor building codes, energy standards and market dynamics; share insights with Marketing and KAMs.

As our new Sales Development Engineer, CBS Malaysia, you'll be driving demand generation and specification influence for Grundfos solutions across key commercial building and infrastructure projects in Malaysia, ensuring we are the preferred choice from design through to order confirmation.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Commercial Building Services (CBS) APAC team, you'll create impact by building trusted relationships with consulting engineers, developers, and contractors to secure Grundfos specifications on strategic projects and convert them into confirmed orders.

Your main responsibilities include:

Demand Generation & Specification Influence

• Proactively identify and qualify opportunities by engaging consulting engineers, developers, and contractors early in the design phase.
• Secure Grundfos as preferred specified brand on strategic projects.
• Maintain a robust pipeline, monitor status, and intervene when competitors attempt substitution.

Stakeholder Education & Technical Advocacy

• Conduct technical presentations, BIM/CAD design sessions, and consultant seminars.
• Provide consultants with clear technical and commercial rationale to defend Grundfos against non-compliant or competing offers.

Collaboration for Project Conversion

• Work jointly with Sales Engineers, CSSC, Application Engineers, and dealers from design to tender stages.
• Remain engaged after specification through tender and pricing to help secure orders, not just influence design.

Commercial Enablement & Local Market Adaptation

• Monitor Malaysian building codes, energy standards, and market dynamics.
• Share insights with Marketing and Key Account Managers (KAMs) to refine positioning and campaigns.
• Contribute to dealer planning and enablement for project-based growth.

What makes you a great fit

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science-based discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or similar).:
• Minimum 3+ years in commercial building services environment within Malaysia market.
• Established network with Malaysia-based M&E consultants and proven track record influencing specifications during pre-tender design stage.
• Strong working knowledge of pump systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, and sanitary applications.
• Ability to translate technical solutions into business advantage and assist sales in competitive positioning.
• Valid driving license with ability and willingness to travel regularly between KL and Johor (and other project locations as needed).
