Design Materiel Sdn Bhd is seeking a Sales Assistant for "Building Materials & ID Finishing" to join our dynamic sales team. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales operations and contributing to the achievement of our sales targets. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your sales skills whilst working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving business growth for our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the sales team in managing customer inquiries and providing product information to potential clients
• Assist in preparing quotations, proposals and sales documentation for clients
• Maintain accurate records of sales transactions and customer interactions within the company database
• Follow up with customers regarding orders, delivery schedules and any outstanding matters
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely order processing and customer satisfaction
• Contribute to the organisation of sales events, product demonstrations and promotional activities
• Provide administrative support to the sales team, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence
• Identify potential sales opportunities and refer leads to senior sales representatives

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; further tertiary education in business, sales or marketing is advantageous
• Proven experience in a sales support, customer service or administrative role, preferably within a sales environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems or similar sales support tools is preferred
• Problem-solving ability with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst also taking initiative independently
• Reliability and a professional approach to work
