Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety & Security Manager to join our team in Sepang, Malaysia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety and security programs to protect our personnel, assets, and operations.

  1. Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  2. Respond to any changes in the restaurant function as dictated by the hotel.
  3. Project a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control at all times.
  4. Have a complete understanding of the Income Audit Section in the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures.
  5. Provide courteous and professional service at all times. Employee Handling.
  6. Recruit, select, and train safety and security employees capable of working within the decentralized management philosophy, following established concepts, and supporting the company's philosophy of multi-skilling and multi-tasking.
  7. Ensure that each division supervisor plans and implements effective training programs for their staff with the Departmental Trainers.
  8. Maximize productivity and morale within departments, maintaining discipline according to hotel policies and local legislation.
  9. Assist in building an efficient team through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling, with attention to employee welfare, safety, and development.
  10. Develop departmental trainers, assign training responsibilities, and meet with Departmental Trainers monthly.
  11. Keep Safety and Security employees updated on seasonal and new products.
  12. Conduct yearly performance appraisals and provide regular feedback on job performance.
  13. Ensure punctuality, proper uniform, and professional appearance of employees.
  14. Uphold the hotel's rules, regulations, and safety policies.
  15. Assume the functions and responsibilities of Manager on Duty as per the roster.
  16. Conduct investigations into fires, thefts, and accidents, and submit reports promptly.
  17. Maintain discipline and standards among security personnel and ensure courteous service to guests and staff.
  18. Report property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  19. Maintain surveillance of guest areas and employee work areas.
  20. Ensure adherence to hotel rules and regulations.
  21. Maintain files and records securely.
  22. Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager.
  23. Establish rapport with guests, handle security-related complaints, requests, and inquiries.
  24. Maintain service standards and a welcoming image for the division team.
  25. Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned.
  26. Ensure departmental operations manuals are updated annually and reports are forwarded timely.
  27. Attend and contribute to staff meetings and training activities.
  28. Adhere to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and personal grooming standards.

Qualifications

  1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in safety and security management.
  3. Proven track record in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
  4. Strong knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  5. Proficiency in security management software and systems.
  6. Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  7. Understanding of local and international safety and security regulations.
  8. Knowledge of aviation security protocols is highly desirable.
  9. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, OSHA).
  10. Experience in emergency response and crisis management.
  11. Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  12. Flexible working hours and emergency responsiveness.
