Job summary

Farm Fresh Berhad is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to lead our EHS initiatives in a manufacturing setting in Malaysia. You will ensure compliance with OSHA standards, develop ISO 14001/45001 systems, and drive safety improvements across the facility.

You will manage OSHC meetings, investigative RCA/CAPA processes, and ensure regulatory inspections. Strong knowledge of FMA, DOSH, and environmental controls is essential, as is previous FMCG experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
  • Mandatory: Registered SHO with DOSH (Green Book) and NIOSH certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing (FMCG/food/process industry preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA, Environmental Quality Act, CLASS Regulations, and scheduled waste management.
  • Familiar with boiler and wastewater compliance (DOSH & DOE requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the appointed Safety & Health Officer in compliance with OSHA 1994 and DOSH/JKKP requirements.
  • Develop and maintain EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001), including SOPs, policies, HIRARC, JSA, and risk assessments.
  • Lead OSHC meetings and ensure timely action tracking.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) programs.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; perform RCA and implement CAPA.
  • Ensure compliance with Factory & Machinery Act (FMA), including boilers, pressure vessels, and DOSH inspections.
  • Manage environmental compliance: scheduled waste, DOE requirements, industrial effluent, emissions, and noise monitoring.
  • Oversee chemical safety (CLASS Regulations, CHRA, SDS management).
  • Plan and deliver EHS training (induction, LOTO, confined space, working at height, hot work, emergency response).
  • Manage Emergency Response Plans (ERP), drills, and coordination with BOMBA, DOE, DOSH, MOH.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities for audits, inspections, and compliance submissions.
  • Manage contractor safety programs including permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
  • Track and report EHS KPIs (LTI, TRIR, audit closure, training hours).
  • Drive continuous improvement and safety culture initiatives.
