Job summary

Chec Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to help implement and monitor OSH policies on site. You will supervise daily activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and approved safe work practices.

You will conduct regular site inspections, lead toolbox meetings, and coordinate with the SHO and subcontractors to manage safety risks. A DOSH-registered SSS and a Bachelor's degree in engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with DOSH/JKKP and a valid Yellow Book.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian OSH requirements and construction site safety practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to conduct inspections, briefings, toolbox talks, and safety monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe acts or conditions.
• Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to reduce safety risks.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site safety inductions for workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by workers and subcontractors.
• Monitor housekeeping, access routes, scaffolding, machinery, lifting, work at height, and other high-risk activities.
• Assist in risk assessments and ensure control measures are implemented.
• Report and assist in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
• Maintain and update safety records, inspection checklists, toolbox meeting records, and related safety documents.
• Coordinate with the Safety and Health Officer (SHO), project team, contractors, and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Assist in emergency preparedness activities and ensure emergency procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities

Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site safety inductions for workers and subcontractors

Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Assist in conducting risk assessments and ensure identified control measures are properly implemented

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline

Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with DOSH/JKKP and possess a valid Yellow Book

Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience, preferably in the construction or civil engineering industry

Good knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health requirements and construction site safety practices

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Able to conduct site inspections, safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and safety monitoring effectively

Able to work independently and as part of a project team

Willing to be based at the project site
