Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Traffic Management Supervisor to lead the planning, supervision, and execution of traffic management on our sites in Malaysia. You will coordinate controllers and ground staff, ensuring proper signage and safety compliance while liaising with project managers, contractors, and local authorities.

The role requires proven TM supervision experience, strong leadership, and the ability to adapt to varying weather and shift requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a traffic management supervisor or similar role.
• Knowledge of traffic management regulations, road safety practices, and construction site safety.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid Malaysia driving license categories B2 & D.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays if required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the implementation of traffic management plans by project requirements and local regulations.
• Coordinate and allocate tasks to traffic controllers and ground staff.
• Ensure proper placement of traffic signs, barriers, cones, and other safety equipment.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with traffic management plans and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with project manager, contractors, and local authorities regarding traffic management requirements.
• Monitor traffic flow and make necessary adjustments to minimize disruption and ensure public safety.
• Train and brief traffic control personnel on safety procedures, roles, and responsibilities.
• Report incidents, near misses, or breaches of safety procedures, roles, and responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate records of traffic management activities, including daily reports and site diaries.
• Ensure all traffic management equipment is maintained and in good working condition.

SUPERVISE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS BY PROJECT REQUIREMENTS AND LOCAL REGULATIONS.

COORDINATE AND ALLOCATE TASKS TO TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS AND GROUND STAFF.

ENSURE PROPER PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC SIGNS, BARRIERS, CONES, AND OTHER SAFETY EQUIPMENT.

CONDUCT REGULAR SITE INSPECTIONS TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS AND SAFETY STANDARDS.

COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH PROJECT MANAGER, CONTRACTORS, AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES REGARDING TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS.

MONITOR TRAFFIC FLOW AND MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO MINIMIZE DISRUPTION AND ENSURE PUBLIC SAFETY.

TRAIN AND BRIEF TRAFFIC CONTROL PERSONNEL ON SAFETY PROCEDURES, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

REPORT ANY INCIDENTS, NEAR MISSES, OR BREACHES OF SAFETY PROCEDURES, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING DAILY REPORTS AND SITE DIARIES.

ENSURE ALL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT IS MAINTAINED AND IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PROVEN EXPERIENCE AS A TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR OR SIMILAR ROLE.

KNOWLEDGE OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS, ROAD SAFETY PRACTICES, AND CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY.

EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP, COMMUNICATION, AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS.

ABILITY TO WORK UNDER PRESSURE AND IN VARIOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS.

STRONG PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

VALID DRIVING MALAYSIA LICENSE CATEGORY (B2 & D)

FLEXIBILITY TO WORK SHIFTS, WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IF REQUIRED.
