CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Lifting Supervisor to oversee daily lifting and hoisting activities at the construction site in Malaysia. You will coordinate with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and safety personnel to ensure safe operations in line with approved lifting plans.
The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy lifting, with knowledge of cranes, rigging, and lifting practices.
Supervise and coordinate daily lifting and hoisting activities at the construction site.
Ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and according to approved lifting plans and procedures.
Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, site engineers, and safety personnel.
Supervise lifting activities involving mobile cranes, precast beams, U-beams, and other heavy construction materials.
Check load weight, lifting points, crane capacity, lifting radius, and ground conditions before lifting.
Ensure proper selection and use of lifting accessories such as slings, shackles, hooks and lifting beams.
Inspect lifting accessories and ensure valid inspection/certification before use.
Conduct toolbox meetings and lifting briefings before major lifting activities.
Control and secure the lifting zone to prevent unauthorized access during lifting operations.
Monitor weather, site conditions, overhead obstructions, and other potential lifting hazards.
Stop lifting operations immediately when unsafe conditions or non-compliance are identified.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
Maintain lifting records, inspection records, and relevant documentation.
Report lifting incidents, near misses, equipment defects and unsafe conditions to the Site Management/Safety Department.
Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Lifting Supervisor in construction or infrastructure projects.
Experience in bridge, road, precast, piling, or heavy lifting works is an advantage.
Good knowledge of crane operations, rigging, and lifting practices.
Familiar with lifting plans, crane load charts, risk assessments, and method statements.
Relevant lifting supervisor competency/certification recognized by the relevant authority.
Knowledge of DOSH/JKKP requirements related to lifting operations.
Good leadership, communication, and site coordination skills.
Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced construction environment.
Willing to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required by project needs.
