Job summary

Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. is seeking a Regional Sales/Marketing expert for the THORNTON pharmaceutical segment. You will assess markets, identify opportunities, and collaborate with Product Management to position products effectively.

Travel extensively to engage customers and represent the brand at events. The role requires strong domain knowledge in pharma, analytical instrumentation familiarity, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Bio-Chemistry, Life Sciences, Process Engineering or similar.
• Experience in Sales and/or Marketing.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and regulatory context.
• Familiar with process instrumentation and analytical instruments.
• Excellent English communication, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Be the regional segment expert for the THORNTON business in the pharmaceutical segment.
• Perform assessments of target market and segments and their trends; identify new business and sales opportunities with proposals.
• Provide insights/strategy related to the pharma segment including product applications, trend analysis and identifying new parameter opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Management and provide key insights to help with product positioning & competitive tactics.
• Support growth initiatives through direct customer contact with local sales force; provide MO marketing and sales segment support with GTCs, seminars and trainings.
• Coordinate and present at technical conferences and trade shows.
• Generate content for marketing tools (application notes, success stories, white papers).
• Train customers and regional sales force on applications.
• Provide strategic inputs to Industry Management Head as part of the planning process.
• Demonstrate ability to operate in a matrix organization and influence across levels.
• Extensive international travel (approx. 50%).

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

• Be the regional segment expert for the THORNTON business in the pharmaceutical segment
• Perform continued assessments of target market and segments and their trends
  ? Identify new business and sales opportunities within the industry and come up with respective proposals.
• Provide insights/strategy relative to the pharma segment which includes product applications, trend analysis and identification of new parameter opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and provide key insights to help with product positioning & competitive tactics.
• Support growth initiatives through intensive direct customer contact together with local sales force. Provide MO marketing and sales segment support with GTCs, seminars and localized and virtual trainings.
• Coordinate and present at technical conferences and trade shows
• Generate content for marketing tools (e.g. application notes, success stories, white papers etc.)
• Train customers and regional sales force on applications
• As part of the Industry Management team, provide strategic inputs to the Industry Management Head for the respective segment as part of our strategic planning process.
• Demonstrate the ability & effectiveness to collaboratively operate in a highly matrixed organization.
• The ability to indirectly lead, motivate and influence will be key success factors.
• Extensive international travel (approx. 50%)
  

What You Need to Succeed

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Bio-Chemistry, Life Sciences, Process Engineering or similar
• Work experience in Sales and/or Marketing
• Affinity with both the technical and the commercial aspects of the job
• Extensive know-how of the pharmaceutical industry (processes, regulations etc.)
• Familiar with process instrumentation, preferably analytical instrumentation
• Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written
• Business savvy and able to maneuver within all levels of an organization
• Self-organized and independent working attitude
• Confidence in various cultural environments
