Job summary

BioFact Life Sdn Bhd is seeking a Research and Development Manager to lead the R&D team in Muar, Johor. You will oversee SOPs, KPI development, and product development to meet ISO criteria and halal regulations.

Responsibilities include planning R&D activities, coordinating with production, monitoring documentation, and driving cost reductions while maintaining quality and timelines. A Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Food Technology and at least three years of related experience are

• Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Food Technology.
• Experience: Three (3) years in related industries.
• Knowledge: Food Act, halal regulation and pharmaceutical products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing SOPs & KPIs for R&D and train the team.
• Plan and oversee R&D processes to comply with ISO criteria.
• Coordinate product development within timelines and test schedules.
• Interact and communicate ideas professionally on time and costs.
• Monitor R&D documentation and testing schedules.
• Identify root causes and recommend product specifications improvements.
• Work with production to maximize productivity in manufacturing.

Job Description:

Assist in develop SOP & KPI for R&D Department, and train the team to work towards complying SOP and achieving KPI.

Plan and oversee R&D process to maintain compliance with ISO criteria.

Assist and train the R&D team towards the complete product development process within timeline.

Monitor R&D documentation and testing schedule.

Have ability to interact, communicate and present ideas, professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines.

Assist in design and development of test requirements and any special testing equipment/apparatus to establish product specifications.

Reviews adaptation of existing products for new applications or other product development.

Continually strive to reduce costs by improving processes or reducing formulation costs.

Work together with production team in the company particularly in the manufacturing process in achieving maximum productivity.

Participate in investigating complaints, identify root cause and make recommendations related to product specification for short term/permanent fixture.

Performs other duties as requested by the R&D Manager / Managing Director.

Report to R&D Manager on all matters pertaining to new product development

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Education level :Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Food Technology.

Experience :Three (3) years of working experience in related industries.

Skills: Knowledgeable/experience in related fields, knowledge on Food Act, pharmaceutical products and Halal regulation.
