Job summary

WAN YEEN TRADING SDN. BHD. is looking for an experienced Research and Development Manager to lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle across food, dietary supplements, and herbal products.

You will shape the strategy and oversee cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, compliant products. The role requires 5+ years in R&D with leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and a track record of managing complex projects in a GMP/HACCP/ISO environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D with at least 1 year in leadership or managerial role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science / Food Technology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.

Job description

Lead and oversee the full product development lifecycle across multiple categories (e.g. food, dietary supplements) from concept development to commercialization.

Define and continuously refine strategic R&D priorities in alignment with company vision, market trends, consumer demands and global regulatory requirements.

Drive innovation roadmap planning by identifying white-space opportunities and developing robust product pipelines.

Integrate consumer insights, scientific research and regulatory intelligence into product development and formulation strategies.

Promote sustainability and cost-efficiency by incorporating environmentally friendly, safe and economically viable ingredients and processes.

Review and approve product formulations, experimental data, technical reports, SOPs and related documentation to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.

Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant local and international regulatory standards (e.g HACCP, GMP, HALAL, ISO, NPRA, FDA)

Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs to prepare product registration dossiers and address technical or regulatory queries.

Qualification / Requirements: -

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science / Food Technology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D with at least 1 year in leadership or managerial role.

Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.

Proven leadership, interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to manage cross functional teams effectively.
