Hong Poh Engineering Construction Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to manage take-offs, cost estimates, tender pricing, and claims across multiple projects including cleanroom and industrial works.

You will work with clients and consultants, support procurement, and monitor budgets while growing under experienced mentorship. Flexibility to travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Senior Project QS: 5+ years of QS experience in mechanical, electrical or MEP works with tendering, claims, variation orders and final accounts.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications in your discipline is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Prepare quantity take-offs, BQs, cost estimates and tender pricing.
• Mechanical: ACMV, process piping, exhaust systems, cleanroom and plumbing.
• Electrical: HV/LV power distribution, switchgear and transformers, gen-sets, cabling and containment, lighting and power, lightning protection and ELV systems.
• Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, and support procurement and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor budgets, costs and variations, and prepare periodic cost reports.
• Prepare and verify progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims and final accounts.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants and subcontractors, including site measurements and valuations.
• Maintain accurate project cost records and documentation.
• Handle the above responsibilities independently across multiple projects for Senior Project QS; guide and support the Project QS.

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Hong Poh Engineering Construction is a general contractor delivering construction and engineering projects across Malaysia. We are hiring Senior Project Quantity Surveyors and Project Quantity Surveyors for Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works. You will work directly with clients and consultants, handling claims to clients and from subcontractors, and gain hands-on experience across cleanroom, industrial and building projects.

Key responsibilities

Prepare quantity take-offs, BQs, cost estimates and tender pricing for your discipline:

Mechanical: ACMV, process piping, exhaust systems, cleanroom and plumbing

Guide and support the Project QS in their daily work.

What We Are Looking For

Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Project QS: Fresh graduates and early-career QS are welcome. Having QS internship or basic take-off and BQ experience is an advantage.

Senior Project QS: At least 5 years of QS experience in mechanical, electrical or MEP works, with hands-on tendering, claims, variation orders and final accounts.

Ability to read drawings and specifications in your discipline is an advantage:

Mechanical: ductwork and piping layouts, equipment schedules, and BOMBA, SPAN or DOSH requirements

Electrical: single-line diagrams, cable and switchboard schedules, and TNB or Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements

Proficient in MS Excel and Word, and careful with numbers and details.

Clear communicator who works well with site and project teams.

Willing to travel to project sites as required.
