Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Contract Executive (M&E) to support data center and engineering projects from tendering through delivery. You will prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions while coordinating with clients, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.

The role requires an engineering qualification (Electrical/Mechanical/Construction) or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience welcomed
• Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (Mandarin for China projects)

• Ability to read/interpret detailed engineering drawings, especially single-line diagrams
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a responsible work ethic
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with teams under tight deadlines
• Own transport

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data center and engineering projects to meet client specs and schedules

Quantity Surveyor / Contract Executive (M&E)

Be part of a team delivering engineering projects, including data centers. Gain hands-on exposure across the project lifecycle - from tender preparation and cost planning to procurement, coordination, and delivery - while working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.

What You'll Be Doing

Coordinate and support data center and engineering projects, ensuring work meets client specifications, project requirements, and delivery schedules.

Prepare tender and quotation submissions, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.

Handle project enquiries and submissions, and participate in client meetings, tender interviews, and technical discussions.

Prepare project budgets, monitor costs, and manage progress claims, variation orders (VO), and payments.

Coordinate supplier and subcontractor orders, monitor delivery and work progress, and review claims.

Apply contractual requirements when preparing project correspondence and maintaining accurate documentation.

Work closely with project and site teams to coordinate work assignments, resources, and logistics.

Track project milestones and performance, follow up on outstanding matters, and support other project and business needs as required.

What You'll Bring

A certificate, diploma, or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or a related field. Candidates without formal qualifications who have more than five years of relevant experience are also welcome to apply.

Written and spoken proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, with Mandarin required for communication with stakeholders on projects in China.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, particularly single-line diagrams.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a responsible approach to your work.

The ability to work independently, coordinate effectively with others, and manage competing priorities within tight deadlines.
