Job summary

Sunway Construction Group Berhad is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor with CSA/MEP exposure to join its Johor operations. The role involves managing contractual compliance, progress claims, and cost control across multiple disciplines in Klang Valley, Ipoh, and Johor.

You will re-measure quantities, prepare procurement documents, and coordinate budget preparation with subcontractors and suppliers. A degree in QS/MEP is required with 2–3 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying/ Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role.

Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with contractual requirements, including EOT, variation progress claims and subcontract payments.
• Re-measuring quantities in original and variation works for verification of progress claims, final accounts and subcontract payments.
• Assist and implement computerization and standardization of contracts administration procedures and cost control measures.
• Budget preparation, solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and award of subcontractors.
• Prepare procurement schedules for subcontractors/suppliers and prepare BQ and procurement documents for quotation.
• Prepare progress payments to subcontractor/progress claims to client/VOs for client and subcontractor/final accounts.
• Advise Project Manager on claim possibilities and initiate claims with contracts services.
• Initiate and follow through with insurance claims and ensure bonds, guarantees, insurance, warranties and other documents are in order.
• Submit budget for adoption and revise project budget when necessary; analyze actual cost against budget.
• Ensure all Purchase Orders are properly executed per policy and identify potential or new suppliers.
