Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a senior commercial professional to oversee the full financial lifecycle of facade packages from tender through project completion. You will lead tender submissions, estimate costs, and manage procurement and post-contract administration to maximize profitability.

The role requires strong quantity surveying experience in facade or curtain wall projects, ability to read drawings and specifications, and excellent negotiation skills within the Malaysian construction

Qualifications

• Experience as a quantity surveyor focused on facade, curtain walls, or building envelope.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract commercial management in construction.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and technical specs for glazing and aluminium works.
• Knowledge of standard construction contracts and Malaysia regulations.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of tender submissions and cost estimates for curtain wall and glazing systems.
• Manage procurement by evaluating material suppliers and negotiating subcontract awards.
• Oversee post-contract administration, including progress valuation and variation orders.
• Conduct cost monitoring and financial forecasting to ensure profitability and budget control.
• Direct final account settlement with clients and vendors to close projects successfully.

Role Overview

As a senior commercial professional, you will manage the full financial lifecycle of facade packages from initial tendering through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive tender submissions and cost estimates specifically for curtain wall and glazing systems.
• Manage the procurement process by evaluating specialist material suppliers and negotiating competitive subcontract awards.
• Oversee post-contract administration, including the valuation of progress claims and the management of variation orders.
• Conduct regular cost monitoring and financial forecasting to ensure project profitability and effective budget management.
• Direct the final account settlement process with clients and vendors to ensure successful commercial project closure.

Required Experience

• Quantity surveying experience, with a specific focus on facade, curtain wall, or building envelope systems.
• Proven ability to handle both pre-contract tendering and post-contract commercial management within the construction industry.
• Strong competency in measuring architectural drawings and understanding technical specifications for glazing and aluminium works.
• Practical knowledge of standard construction contract forms and local industry regulations in Malaysia.
• High level of commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively and resolve complex financial disputes.
