Job summary

Hong Shin Builders Pte Ltd in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing construction team. You will manage project costs, prepare valuations, and ensure projects are delivered on budget with high quality standards.

You will work on diverse projects, coordinate with architects and engineers, prepare tender documents, and monitor expenditures with regular cost reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3-7 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software, Microsoft Excel and other relevant quantity surveying tools.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and project budgets for construction works.
• Managing contract documentation and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to verify work completed and quantities of materials used.
• Preparing interim valuations and final accounts for submission to clients and consultants.
• Identifying and managing variations, claims and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
• Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to resolve technical and commercial matters.
• Monitoring project expenditure and providing regular cost reports to project management teams.
• Preparing tender documents and cost analyses to support project bidding and procurement.
• Maintaining accurate records of all project-related documentation, contracts and correspondence.

About the role

Hong Shin Builders Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing construction team in Johor Bahru, Johor/ Singapore. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the financial and contractual management of our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing valuations, and ensuring that all construction projects are delivered within budget whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects and contribute significantly to the success of our operations.

• Experience in a supervisory or mentoring capacity would be advantageous for Senior positions
