Job summary

China Construction Development (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd invites applications for Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will support major high‑rise projects through tendering, post‑contract QS, cost control and subcontractor management within an international construction environment.

You will prepare bills of quantities, review budgets, handle progress claims and variations, and provide commercial advice on EOTs and claims.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Quantity Surveyor: 1–2 years of relevant experience with a main contractor; Senior: 5+ years in post‑contract QS with main contractor.

Responsibilities

• Assist/lead in preparing quotations and tender documents.
• Prepare and review bids, cost estimates and budgets.
• Carry out quantity take‑off, BOQ preparation and cost breakdowns.
• Handle post‑contract QS activities for high‑rise projects.
• Prepare progress claims, variations, final accounts and subcontractor payments.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams on QS matters.
• Maintain contract documentation and records.
• Provide commercial advice on claims and variations.

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our project team and support major high-rise construction projects in Kuala Lumpur.

This is an excellent opportunity for Quantity Surveying professionals to gain hands‑on exposure in tendering, post‑contract, cost control, claims, variation orders, final accounts and subcontractor management within an international construction environment.

Job Responsibilities

Assist / lead in preparing quotations, pre‑qualification documents and tender documents.

Prepare and review tender bids, quotations, cost estimates and project budgets.

Carry out quantity take‑off, measurement and preparation of Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns.

Handle post‑contract quantity surveying activities for high‑rise construction projects.

Prepare and review progress claims, Variation Orders, Final Accounts, settlements and subcontractor payments.

Call for quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, prepare price comparisons and recommend suitable subcontractors.

Check, evaluate and verify subcontractor claims and supporting documents.

Ensure all submitted documents are accurate, complete, properly substantiated and in accordance with contract requirements and company procedures.

Provide contractual and commercial advice on claims, Variation Orders, EOT and related matters.

Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow, and prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow projections.

Prepare progress reports and support the project team in resolving commercial and contractual issues.

Value completed works and arrange / verify payments.

Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams on quantity surveying and commercial matters.

Maintain proper contract documentation, correspondence and records.

Perform other ad‑hoc duties assigned by the superior.

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.

Quantity Surveyor: 1–2 years of relevant experience with a main contractor. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Senior Quantity Surveyor: At least 5 years of relevant experience in post‑contract quantity surveying, preferably with a main contractor.

Experience in high‑rise construction projects such as residential, condominium, hotel, office tower or commercial projects.

Strong working knowledge of quantity take‑off, costing, claims, Variation Orders, final accounts, cost control and subcontractor management.

Familiar with construction contracts, contract administration and basic contractual principles.

Able to work independently with minimum guidance and manage tight deadlines.

Good analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Being able to speak Mandarin/Chinese is an added advantage due to the need to deal and liaise with China stakeholders.
