Job summary

Austin Heights Sdn Bhd – Johor Bahru, Johor is seeking a Diploma or Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor to coordinate with consultants, contractors, site personnel and project teams on all Quantity Surveying matters.

You will assist in pre- and post-contract administration, including taking-off quantities, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ), material procurement, tendering, and contract award processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in QS.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, contract admin and law.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers for competitive prices.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication, coordination and interpersonal abilities.
• Able to work independently and in a team; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, site personnel and project teams on QS matters.
• Assist in pre- and post-contract administration, including taking-off quantities, preparing Bills of Quantities, material procurement, tendering and contract awards.
• Conduct site valuation and measurement, monthly interim payment certification, VO assessment and final accounts.
• Attend site meetings, project meetings and meetings with clients and consultants.
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditures are within the approved budget.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management review.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field

• Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices and favourable terms
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Self-motivated, responsible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
• Willing to travel to project sites and attend site meetings when required
