Job summary

UEM Edgenta Berhad is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage post-contract commercial activities for NMM Civil Projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will review contract documents, BOQ, drawings, and conditions, and support interim progress claims and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–6 years in Quantity Surveying with post-contract commercial experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage post-contract QS and commercial activities for assigned NMM Civil Projects, including review of contract documents, BOQ, drawings, specifications, and contractual conditions.
• Conduct and verify site measurements to support progress claims, variations, and final accounts, while preparing, reviewing, and monitoring interim progress claims and supporting documentation.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, expenditure, and overall cost performance against approved budgets, providing timely analysis and identifying potential cost risks.
• Evaluate and manage Variation Orders (VO), including measurement, cost estimation, valuation, and supporting documentation. Review contractor and subcontractor claims to assess entitlement, quantities, and valuation in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Prepare project cost reports and provide regular commercial updates to Project Management and Post Contract teams. Monitor outstanding claims, variations, and commercial matters to ensure timely submission, resolution, and closure.
• Support final measurement, claims reconciliation, preparation and settlement of final accounts, and other contract close-out activities upon project completion.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, Project Managers, Engineers, and internal stakeholders on commercial and contractual matters, while ensuring compliance with company procedures, project requirements, contractual obligations, and audit requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably with strong exposure to post-contract commercial management.
• Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, utilities, or related projects will be an advantage.
