Job summary

Pekat E&LP Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring competitiveness while meeting standards. Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

You will liaise with the Design Department, prepare BOQ and quotations, estimate costs for tenders, and verify BOM accuracy. Strong communication, Excel/Word, and independent multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; Mandarin proficiency is required.

Aquantity surveyormanages all costs relating to construction projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They seek to minimize the costs of a project and yet stay competitive, while still achieving the required standards and quality. (Mandarin speaker is a must)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaise with Design Department

Prepare costing and quotation for project base on bill of materials and new project requirements

Check items on bill of materials to ensure the quantity is correct

Revise cost and quotation if/when required

Liaise technical matters with suppliers

Request Tender Bond and purchase of tender document

Requirements:

Strong written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word & Excel and Autocad will be an added advantage

Able to work independently and handle multi-tasking

Strong organizational and analytical skills
