Job summary

MSR Solar in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage contract documentation, tendering, and cost control for our solar projects. You will study tender scopes, estimate budgets, and price tenders while coordinating with procurement and project teams.

On-site work as required, overseeing cost control, variations, final accounts, and claims to ensure contracts are met. A Diploma or higher in Quantity Surveying is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or professional degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project documentation and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Willing to work on-site as required.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, cost management and project controls.
• Familiar with industry regulations and best practices in construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract documentation and tender acceptance.
• Study tender scope, estimate budget, and prepare pricing.
• Request quotations and price tender comparisons.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
• Prepare BQ, variations, cost estimates, and budgeting.
• Handle claims, final accounts, and contract valuation.
• Value subcontractors' progress claims, remeasurement and variations.
• Attend site and client meetings to resolve issues.

• Perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by the project manager.

Responsibilities

• Carry out contract documentation and preparation relating to tender acceptance and contract execution.
• Study the scope of work of the tender; Estimate Budget, prepare time schedule to pricing tender, Quotation list, List out raw material.
• Request quotation, make a comparison, built up rate and pricing tender.
• Oversee negotiation and procurement of materials and equipment during project duration.
• Oversee preparation of BQ, variation orders, cost estimate, cost control and budgeting.
• Responsible for claims and cost management in which able to prepare progress claims, final account, valuation of contracts works and familiar with contractual claims.
• To prepare valuation of subcontractors’ progress claim, re measurement and variation of works.
• Attend the Site meeting and Client meeting in order to solve any problem that may arise.
• Assist project team in letter / report writing and correspondences.
• Any ad-hoc task as assigned by project manager.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma holder, Professional Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.
• Required skill(s): Microsoft Office, Project Documentation, AutoCAD.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Candidates must be willing to work on-site as required by the role
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project control processes
• Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices in the construction sector
