Job summary

KIDE INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to manage financial and contractual terms across pre-tender to post-contract stages on site in Penang. The role demands strong cost planning, tendering, and feasibility study skills to support project delivery.

You will monitor budgets, produce progress claims and valuations, and ensure tender documents meet deadlines and stay within budget. Collaboration with consultants, sub-contractors and internal departments is essential,

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in QS or related engineering field.
• 3–5 years of experience in the related field.
• Experience in pre and post contract functions including tender/contract review and drafting of agreements.
• Able to liaise effectively with consultants, sub-contractors and authorities.
• Chinese language ability to liaise with China management.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial and contractual terms from pre-tender to post-contract stages.
• Handle pre and post contract administration, tendering, cost planning, and feasibility studies.
• Monitor cost control and project budgets from inception to completion.
• Monitor cost and project progress via PM Progress Reports and cost monitoring system.
• Identify areas for improvement in contracting processes.
• Ensure tender documents are completed on time for tender calls and awards within budget.
• Conduct quantities assessment for Contract BQ, Variation Orders and final accounts.
• Track Contract Budgeting and monthly VO status; perform related QS tasks.
• Collaborate with consultants to meet deadlines; liaise with internal departments.

Job description

This position will be based at site office.

Responsible in managing the financial and contractual terms of a wide variety of projects from pre-tender to post-contract stages.

Responsible for pre and post contract administration, tendering, cost planning, submit progress claim, payment claim, certification and feasibility study.

To monitor the cost control and ensure the overall budget of the projects are maintained from inception to completion.

To monitor the cost and project progress through the Project Management Progress Report / Meeting and cost monitoring system.

To identify areas for improvement in existing contracting processes.

To ensure tender documents are completed on time for tender calling and award within budget

Conducting quantities assessment for Contract BQ, Variation Orders and final accounts.

Keep track on Contract Budgeting, progress of work done and VOs’ monthly status and related QS tasks.

Work closely with other consultants, towards accomplishing targeted deadlines and milestone.

Liaise internally with different departments.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Industrial) or equivalent.

At least 3-5Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Able to work independently.

Experienced in pre and post contract functions including tender/contract review, contractual claims procedures, drafting of agreement/correspondence & etc.

Able to liaise effectively with consultants, sub-contractors and authorities.

Good knowledge and understanding in overall processes of cost and contract management, feasibility studies and tender process.

Must be able to work for6 daysin a week. Can be negotiable to 5 days upon terms & conditions.

Must be able to speakChinesesince have to liaise with China management.
