Job summary

CCIE ENGINEERING (M) SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgeting and contract administration across construction projects.

You will prepare bills of quantities, monitor expenditures, value engineering opportunities and liaise with clients and contractors to resolve cost issues. A professional QS qualification and 3–5 years in the field are preferred.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
• Membership eligibility with AIQS, RICS or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in measurement & estimation practices using standard methods.
• Solid understanding of PAM, IEM or FIDIC contracts.
• Cost planning, budgeting and financial management experience.
• Experience with construction management software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender docs for construction projects.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and measurements.
• Manage project costs, budgets and financial forecasts across all phases.
• Monitor project expenditure and report variances.
• Prepare valuations and interim payment certificates for contractors/clients.
• Administer contracts including negotiations and variations.
• Prepare final accounts and project closeout docs.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and engineers on cost/contract matters.
• Conduct market research and provide cost analyses for materials/labor/equipment.
• Maintain project records and cost databases for benchmarking.
• Provide cost advice on design alternatives and value engineering opportunities.
