Precision Control is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Malaysia. The role focuses on cost control, contract management, and project support for data center projects, requiring a diploma or degree in Engineering, Electrical, or Electronics and a minimum of 5 years' experience.

Willingness to be based at site is essential. The ideal candidate will manage progress claims, valuations, variations, and post-contract activities, ensuring accurate cost tracking and timely

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit progress claims and variation orders.
• Attend site valuations, measurements, and meetings.
• Assist in preparation and award of contracts.
• Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide pre- and post-contract support, including cost monitoring.
• Liaise between contract manager and project manager on variations and clarifications.
• Prepare regular physical progress reports with the project manager.
• Assist in managing contract variations and EOT applications.
• Oversee post-contract activities and final accounts.
• Track retention sums and ensure timely release.

Job description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team! If you have a strong background in cost control, contract management, and project support, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit progress claims and variation orders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission with proper supporting documents

Attend site valuations, site measurements, and project meetings when necessary to facilitate effective contract and cost management.

Assist in the preparation and award of contracts, including contract review and recommending subcontractor valuations

Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Provide pre- and post-contract support, including cost monitoring, site valuations, and contractual correspondence

Act as the key liaison between contract manager and project manager on variation matters, and contractual clarifications.

Work closely with the project manager to prepare regular physical progress reports

Assist in managing contract variations, tracking changes in scope, and preparing EOT applications where necessary.

Oversee post-contract activities such as monitoring construction costs, evaluating variation orders, and preparing final accounts.

Track retention sums held by clients, ensuring timely release upon project completion.

Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Electrical/Electronics or related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.

Experienced with Data Center Projects (Advantageous).

Willing to be based at site.
