Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• At least 6 years of work experience in quantity surveying or related field.
• Proven ability in measurement, tendering, costing and contract administration.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and MS Project.
• Strong communication, productivity and deadline-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Examine tender documents and clarify requirements with consultants or clients.
• Coordinate with departments for information needed for tender submissions.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers for quotes and information.
• Prepare quotations and tender submissions.
• Handle drawing registration and control.
• Monitor contracts and project accounts to reflect terms and conditions.
• Manage EOT, variations and changed working conditions as needed.
• Prepare monthly progress claims and invoices to clients.
• Coordinate with consultants and clients to ensure timely certificates and payments.
• Produce cash flow projections for monthly forecasts.
• Negotiate subcontracting works and material procurement.
• Prepare sub-contract agreements and final accounts for sub-contracts.

Job description

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English

At least 6 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Required Skill(s): Measurement and Taking-off, Tendering and Estimating, Costing from first principal, Basic Contractual Practices and Clauses, Basic Construction Knowledge, Basic Microsoft Project Task Planning, Good in Microsoft Office especially Excel, Basic Letter Writing, Good Communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia, Good Productivity to meet deadlines, Independent and Initiative to Seek for Best Solution

Preferably Senior Executive specialized in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Quantity surveyors have under their helm complete management of the cost involved in building and construction projects from the inception of the project until the delivery. They strive for an efficient use of the resources whilst keeping an eye on quality, quality standards, and client's requirements which specifically meant as follows:-

a) Examine tender documents like drawing, specifications, conditions of contracts and clarify with consultants or client’s representative.

b) Liaise with respective departments for clarification and further information required for tender submission.

c) Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain information and quotation.

d) Prepare quotation and tender submission.

e) Handle drawing registration and control.

f) Monitoring the main contract and project account through effective contractual management to ensure letter of award reflects the agreed terms and conditions and fulfill the contract’s requirement such as CIDB and purchase of insurance.

g) Liaise closely with person-in-charge on the circumstances which may give rise to EOT, VO and/or changed working conditions from those expected or tendered in the contract.

h) Preparing monthly progress claim and invoice to client.

i) Liaison with consultants and client to ensure the certificates and payment received on time.

j) Produce cash flow projection for monthly forecast including internal cost forecast based on claim and certificate to account department.

k) Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers on subcontracting works as well as material procurement.

l) Prepare of sub-contract agreement to sub-contractors.

m) Prepare monthly certification of work done to sub-contractors up to the final account of the sub-contract works.
