Sinar Widuri Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare quantities, cost estimates, and pricing for construction projects while reviewing drawings and contracts to identify requirements and cost implications.
You will prepare and evaluate tenders and subcontractor packages, obtain quotations, monitor costs and maintain budget records, and handle progress claims, VO, EOT, and final accounts.
Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and pricing for construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, contract documents, and scope of work to identify project requirements and potential cost implications.
Prepare and evaluate tenders, quotations, and subcontractor packages.
Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Monitor project costs and maintain accurate cost control and budget records.
Prepare and submit progress claims, payment applications, and payment certificates.
Evaluate and manage Variation Orders (VO), including measurement, pricing, and supporting documentation.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) and contractual claims where required.
Monitor subcontractor and supplier payments and ensure proper supporting documents are maintained.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed works for valuation and payment purposes.
Prepare monthly cost reports, project financial reports, and cash flow forecasts.
Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Review subcontractor claims, quotations, and final accounts.
Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
Maintain proper records of contracts, measurements, claims, variations, correspondence, and other commercial documents.
Identify potential cost risks and commercial issues and provide recommendations to the Project Manager / Management.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction or quantity surveying, depending on position level.
Good knowledge of construction methods, measurement, costing, and contract administration.
Familiarity with construction contracts, variation orders, progress claims, and final accounts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and quantity surveying / estimating software is an advantage.
Good communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Willing to travel to project sites when required.
