Job summary

We Excellent Aluminium & Glass Sdn Bhd seeks a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and cost management of aluminium and glass façade projects. You will manage cost estimations, tendering processes, and contract administration to ensure projects meet budget and contractual terms.

The role involves liaising with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors, with travel to project sites as required. A relevant degree and 2–4 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven proficiency in measurement, BQ preparation, and cost control.
• Familiarity with architectural/shop drawings for facade/glazing works.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, take-offs, and Bills of Quantities for aluminium and glass facade works.
• Review tender documents and drawings to ensure accurate quantities and pricing.
• Source quotations from suppliers/subcontractors and evaluate costs.
• Prepare progress claims, valuations, and supporting documentation.
• Assess variation orders, site instructions, and negotiate with clients and contractors.
• Monitor project costs against budget and generate cost reports.

We Excellent Aluminium & Glass Sdn Bhd is a distinguished aluminium and glass fabricator specialising in the construction of exterior building facades and interiors. As a major supplier and installer of customised aluminium and glazing systems — including curtain walls, composite panel cladding, spider glass, glass railings, and external facades — we have completed over 100 projects across both East and West Malaysia. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and cost management of our facade and glazing projects.

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of the company's aluminium and glass facade projects, from tendering and estimation through to final account settlement. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget, that materials and subcontractor costs are accurately measured and controlled, and that contractual and commercial risks are properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, take-offs, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) for aluminium and glass facade works, including curtain walls, cladding, glazing, and related systems.
• Review tender and contract documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate quantity measurement and pricing.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; evaluate and compare costs for aluminium profiles, glass, hardware, and accessories.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, valuations, and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
• Assess and value variation orders (VO), site instructions, and additional works, and negotiate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Monitor and control project costs against budget, and prepare regular cost reports highlighting any variances.
• Verify and certify subcontractor and supplier claims, ensuring accuracy against work done and delivery records.
• Prepare and finalise final accounts upon project completion.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, fabrication, and procurement to ensure cost efficiency and accurate material take-offs.
• Maintain proper records of contracts, claims, correspondence, and cost data.
• Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the aluminium & glass, facade, curtain wall, or building construction industry.
• Solid understanding of measurement methods, BQ preparation, and standard methods of measurement (e.g. SMM).
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings for facade and glazing works.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying / estimation software; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills with keen attention to detail.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites as required.
