Job summary

WINNERS ALUM SYSTEM SDN. BHD. in Bayan Lepas, Penang is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor for full-time involvement in aluminium and glass construction projects. You will estimate quantities, costs, and specifications, and support procurement, measurement, and budgeting activities.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, 2–3 years of experience, and strong Excel/ArchiCAD/AutoCAD skills.ng experience. AIQS certification is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
• 2-3 years of professional experience in quantity surveying or construction estimating
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes, regulations, and construction standards
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, or specialised estimating software
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings accurately
• Professional certification such as AIQS or equivalent is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for aluminium and glass works.
• Assist with taking-off quantities and measurement from architectural, structural and construction drawings.
• Prepare and check Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material quantities and cost breakdowns.
• Assist in obtaining and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in monitoring project costs, material costs and variation orders.
• Prepare progress claims, payment applications and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing and evaluating variation orders, additional works and cost adjustments.
• Assist in checking subcontractor claims and invoices against actual work completed.
• Liaise with project/site teams to verify quantities, materials and completed works.
• Assist in monitoring project cost against budget and highlight cost discrepancies.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, measurements, contracts, claims and project cost information.
• Assist in reviewing construction drawings, specifications and contractual documents.
• Support the Senior QS / Project Manager in commercial and contractual matters.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join WINNERS ALUM SYSTEM SDN. BHD. in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our aluminium and glass construction projects estimating operations. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for determining the quantities, specifications, and costs of materials and labour required for construction projects. This role is essential to ensuring accurate project budgeting, cost control, tendering, measurement, procurement and successful project delivery within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for aluminium and glass works.

Assist with taking-off quantities and measurement from architectural, structural and construction drawings.

Prepare and check Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material quantities and cost breakdowns.

Assist in obtaining and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Assist in monitoring project costs, material costs and variation orders.

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline

Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in quantity surveying or construction estimating. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards

Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, or specialised estimating software

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings accurately

Knowledge of Malaysian building codes, regulations, and construction standards

Professional certification such as AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or equivalent is advantageous

Proven track record of delivering accurate cost estimates and managing project budgets

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Organised and detail-oriented.

Able to work independently as well as with project and site teams.

Willing to travel to project sites when required.
