Responsibilities

• Prepare variation orders and assess claims for costs or time extensions.
• Maintain comprehensive cost records and financial documents.

• Conduct cost reconciliation and final accounts upon project completion.
• Provide value engineering advice to optimise costs without compromising quality.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring financial controls are maintained throughout the construction lifecycle. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget, and you will be integral to the success of our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and detailed bills of quantities for construction projects
• Managing project budgets and monitoring expenditure against approved estimates
• Conducting site measurements and inspections to verify work completed and materials used
• Negotiating and agreeing on contract terms with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
• Preparing variation orders and assessing claims for additional costs or time extensions
• Maintaining comprehensive cost records and financial documentation
• Liaising with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure cost targets are met
• Analysing tender documents and preparing recommendations on cost-effective solutions
• Conducting cost reconciliation and final account settlements upon project completion
• Providing value engineering advice to optimise project costs without compromising quality

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 1 year above of professional experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
• Proficiency in cost estimation software
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction contracts, and industry standards
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with both residential and commercial construction projects is advantageous
• Familiarity with Malaysian construction practices and regulatory requirements is preferred
