Job summary

Zalam Corporation Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage site measurement, progress claims, variation orders and cost control on construction projects in Kuala Lumpur.

You will handle subcontractor management, contract administration, final accounts, RFIs, and coordination with consultants to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

• Check and certify subcontractors’ claims received from site.
• Prepare claims updates and supporting documents.
• Submit material submissions and follow up for approval.
• Prepare and issue subcontractor backcharge notices.
• Record variation works and prepare for claims.
• Take quantity take-offs and prepare material delivery schedules.
• Involve in construction drawings, BQ items, progress photos.
• Conduct site valuations with authorities, consultants, engineers.
• Issue subcontractor payment certificates and claims.
• Involve in variation orders, backcharges, revised drawings, RFIs, and quotations.
• Prepare subcontractor tender processes to final account.
• Perform other ad-hoc assignments as instructed by superior.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor role responsible for site measurement, progress claims, variation orders, cost control, subcontractor management, contract administration, final account preparation, and reporting and coordination on construction projects.

Key responsibilities

1. Check and certify sub-contractors’ claim received from site.

2. Prepare claims update and supporting documents preparation.

3. Material submission and follow up for approval

4. Ensure subcontractor backcharge notice preparation and issuance

5. Variation works record and preparation for claim

6. Quantity taking off and preparation of delivery schedule for material requisition

7. Involve in Construction and As-built Drawings, BQ items, Progress photos

8. Conduct Site Valuation with authority, consultant, engineer etc.

9. Issuance of subcontractor claims, certificate of payment etc

10. Involve in variation order, backcharge, revise drawing, RFI, quotation etc

11. Prepare subcontractor tender process to final account

12. Other ad-hoc assignment as instructed by Superior
