Quantity Surveying Manager (B2B Business)

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of B2B projects, ensuring budgets are accurately prepared, costs are controlled, and projects are delivered within the approved financial framework. This role works closely with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to prepare quotations, manage tenders, monitor project costs, and maximize project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and project budgets.

Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine project costs.

Develop competitive quotations and pricing proposals for B2B clients.

Evaluate project risks and recommend cost-saving opportunities.

Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Compare supplier pricing and negotiate for the most competitive rates.

Prepare tender submissions and contract documentation.

Project Cost Control

Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.

Prepare cost reports and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.

Identify cost variances and propose corrective actions.

Ensure all variations are properly documented and approved.

Contract Administration

Review contracts, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.

Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, and final accounts.

Verify supplier and subcontractor invoices before payment.

Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Liaise with clients regarding project costing, quotations, and variations.

Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, Procurement, and Finance teams.

Attend project meetings when required to provide cost updates and recommendations.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate costing records and project documentation.

Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and industry standards.

Prepare reports for management on project financial performance.

Requirements
Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.

Experience handling B2B projects, pre-contract (estimation) or post-contract (valuation) workflows is preferred.

Experience in interior fit-out, renovation, residential or construction projects is preferred, with specialization in cabinetry and joinery works being an added advantage.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles and contract administration.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Experience with AutoCAD, QS software, or cost estimation software is an advantage.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.
