We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity measurement, tendering, procurement, subcontractor management, progress claims, variation orders and cost control throughout the project.
The role requires close coordination with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure that the project is delivered within the approved budget and contractual requirements.
Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity measurement, tendering, procurement, subcontractor management, progress claims, variation orders and cost control throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Tendering
- Prepare detailed quantities, cost estimates and budgets based on drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), schedules of rates and tender documents.
- Review tender documents, drawings and specifications.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare tender comparison and recommendation reports.
- Assist in tender negotiations and commercial evaluations.
Contract & Subcontractor Management
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual obligations.
- Review subcontractor claims, invoices and supporting documents.
- Ensure payments and certifications are processed accurately and on time.
- Maintain proper records of contracts, correspondence and commercial documentation.
Progress Claims & Payment
- Prepare and submit interim progress claims to clients.
- Verify work progress and quantities completed at site.
- Evaluate and certify subcontractor progress claims.
- Monitor payment status and outstanding claims.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs and payments.
Variation Orders & Cost Control
- Identify, measure and evaluate variation works.
- Prepare variation order submissions and supporting documents.
- Monitor changes to the scope of work and their cost implications.
- Maintain cost control throughout the project.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts and budget updates.
- Identify potential cost overruns and advise the Project Manager accordingly.
Final Account & Project Close-Out
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Verify final quantities and completed works.
- Ensure all variations, claims and outstanding commercial matters are properly resolved.
- Maintain complete commercial documentation for project close-out.
General Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial matters.
- Attend site meetings and commercial coordination meetings.
- Conduct site measurements and quantity verification when required.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify changes, discrepancies and cost implications.
- Assist the Project Manager in contractual and commercial matters.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements and contractual obligations.
- Prepare regular commercial and management reports.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
