Job summary

Sintalow Hardware Pte Ltd in Johor, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial and project teams in preparing accurate quotations, cost estimates and tender submissions.

You will review tender documents, drawings and BOQ; perform quantity take-offs; source supplier quotations; evaluate pricing and profit margins; and help monitor project costs.

The role requires strong numerical, analytical and negotiating skills and a detail‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, estimating or tendering.
• Experience in M&E, piping, valves or related engineering industries will be an added advantage.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Responsible, organised and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple quotations and tenders within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations, cost estimates and tender submissions based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Review tender documents, engineering drawings, specifications and BOQ.
• Perform quantity take-offs and calculate material quantities from drawings.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and prepare project costing, pricing and profit margin analysis.
• Prepare project budgets and support the Project Manager in monitoring costs.
• Assist in preparing variation quotations and project-related commercial documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project, Procurement and Finance teams for accurate costing and project execution.
• Maintain accurate costing records, quotation files and tender documentation.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.

Source and obtain quotations from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.

Evaluate supplier quotations and prepare project costing, pricing and profit margin analysis.

Prepare project budgets and support the Project Manager in monitoring project costs.

Assist in preparing variation quotations and project-related commercial documentation where required.

Coordinate with the Sales, Project, Procurement and Finance teams to ensure accurate project costing and smooth project execution.

Maintain accurate costing records, quotation files and tender documentation.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions where appropriate.

Assist with other commercial and project-related duties as assigned by management.

Profile

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, estimating or tendering.

Experience in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), piping, valves or related engineering industries will be an added advantage.

Able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Experience with AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
