Job summary

WAI FOOD SDN BHD in Ampang, Selangor is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This full-time role focuses on inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Secondary education (SPM or equivalent) or higher in Halal, Food Science, Chemistry or Quality Management.
• Experience in quality control/quality assurance within food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of HACCP or ISO food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data recording.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products.
• Record test results and quality data in designated systems and documentation.
• Identify deviations, defects or non-conformances and report to supervisors.
• Assist in investigation of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the quality control laboratory and testing areas.
• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to schedule.
• Support compliance with halal certification, food safety regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare quality reports and assist with audit documentation.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve quality-related concerns.

Quality Control Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Assistant to join WAI FOOD SDN BHD in our Ampang, Selangor facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and food safety across our manufacturing operations. As a Quality Control Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure all products meet our rigorous quality standards and comply with relevant regulations. This role is essential to protecting our brand reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products
• Recording test results and quality data accurately in designated systems and documentation
• Identifying and reporting quality deviations, defects or non-conformances to supervisors
• Assisting in the investigation of quality issues and implementing corrective actions where required
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the quality control laboratory and testing areas
• Ensuring all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to schedule

What we’re looking for

• Secondary education (SPM or equivalent) or higher qualification in a relevant field such as Halal, Food Science, Chemistry or Quality Management
• Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance within the food manufacturing or similar industry
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording data
• Familiarity with quality control procedures, testing methods and food safety standards such as HACCP or ISO standards
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physical capability to perform standing, walking and handling of materials as required
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Reliability and punctuality in attendance and task completion
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of our products and processes
