Job summary

Tropicor Foods in Klang, Selangor, is hiring a QA/QC & Halal Executive to ensure food safety, product quality and Halal compliance at our manufacturing facility.

You will inspect materials, monitor GMP/HACCP, conduct lab tests and document deviations. You’ll manage Halal HAS, coordinate audits, and train staff on food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in food science/technology/nutrition or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing.
• Halal certification (JAKIM) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MS 1500, GMP, HACCP and food regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, packaging and finished goods against quality standards.
• Monitor production lines daily to ensure GMP/HACCP compliance.
• Conduct routine laboratory testing, including physical, chemical and sensory evaluations.
• Document and investigate product deviations, customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
• Maintain, calibrate and clean laboratory equipment regularly.
• Update quality records to be audit-ready.

Our certified production facilities in Malaysia include a newly built processing plant in Klang, Selangor.

About the Role

We are looking for a QA/QC & Halal Executive to join our team in Klang. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for ensuring food safety, product quality and Halal compliance within our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Assurance

• Inspect raw materials, packaging and finished goods against quality standards.
• Monitor production lines daily to ensure adherence to GMP and HACCP principles.
• Conduct routine laboratory testing, including physical, chemical and sensory evaluations.
• Document and investigate product deviations, customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
• Maintain, calibrate and clean laboratory equipment regularly.

Halal Compliance & Administration

• Maintain the company’s Internal Halal Assurance System (HAS).
• Prepare and submit Halal application documents via the MYeHALAL system.
• Serve as the primary contact person for JAKIM auditors.
• Verify that all raw materials possess valid, recognized Halal certificates.
• Conduct internal Halal audits and coordinate Halal Committee meetings.

Production Support & Training

• Monitor worker hygiene, sanitation practices and pest control compliance.
• Assist in training production staff on Halal, GMP and food safety awareness.
• Update and organize quality records so the facility is ready for audits at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or equivalent.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in food manufacturing.
• Certified Halal Executive (JAKIM recognized) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of MS 1500, GMP, HACCP and food regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills and proactive problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.
