Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Johor region is seeking a qualified QA, Food Safety and Halal Systems professional to lead and improve our quality management.
You will manage HACCP, GMP and Halal documentation, coordinate internal audits, and oversee production quality, supplier controls, and staff training to uphold regulatory and customer standards.
1. QA, Food Safety, Halal Systems and Documentation
Manage, maintain and continuously improve the company’s Quality Assurance, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and Halal systems.
Prepare, review and update HACCP plans, hazard analyses, SOPs, procedures, manuals, forms, checklists and related records.
Maintain the Internal Halal Control System (IHCS), including Halal verification of raw materials, ingredients and suppliers.
Ensure all QA, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and Halal documents are properly controlled, organised, traceable and kept up to date.
Prepare new documents and revise existing documents whenever there are changes to products, ingredients, processes, SOPs or company requirements.
2. Audits, Regulatory Compliance and Continuous Improvement
Coordinate and prepare for Halal, HACCP, GMP, customer, certification and regulatory audits.
Conduct internal inspections and verification activities and follow up on corrective actions.
Liaise with KKM, Halal authorities, certification bodies, third-party auditors and other relevant external parties.
Manage audit findings, non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analyses and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor Food Safety Objectives and quality performance and implement improvement actions where necessary.
Keep Management informed of changes to regulatory, customer, certification, food safety, quality and Halal requirements.
Provide appropriate advice and recommendations to Management when necessary.
3. Production Quality, QC Supervision and Issue Management
Monitor production processes, hygiene practices and product quality to ensure compliance with established QA, Food Safety, GMP and Halal requirements.
Supervise and guide the QC Assistant in carrying out inspections, monitoring, verification and record-keeping activities.
Handle customer complaints, product quality issues and non-conformities, including investigation and follow-up actions.
Report significant quality, food safety, Halal, production, audit and compliance issues to Management.
Recommend and follow up on suitable corrective, preventive and improvement actions.
4. Supplier Control, External Services and Employee Training
Manage raw material and supplier approval, including product specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COA), Halal certificates, hazard assessments and supporting documents.
Coordinate laboratory testing, including sample submission, review of test results and any required follow-up actions.
Coordinate external service providers, including pest control, waste management and laboratory testing services, and maintain the relevant records.
Conduct employee training on Halal, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, personal hygiene and quality awareness.
Monitor employee compliance requirements, including typhoid vaccination, food-handler training and other mandatory training.
Maintain complete and up-to-date employee training and competency records.
Promote a strong quality, food safety, hygiene and Halal culture throughout the organisation.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by Management.
Muslim with at least a Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or any equivalent qualification.
3-5 years of working experience in the food manufacturing industry.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and email.
Possess training certificates in Halal Executive, Halal Competency and HACCP Internal Audit.
Good knowledge of Malaysia Halal Certification requirements, GMP, HACCP and MESTI.
