Job summary

IMR (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. seeks a Quality-focused professional to supervise day-to-day production-line QC, inspect incoming materials, and ensure compliance with drawings and specs. You will document inspections, manage non-conformities, and support defect analysis while promoting process improvements and 5S. Strong measurement skills are a plus.

Minimum 2 years in quality, diploma holder, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision are required. On-site role in Penang, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma / Diploma in any field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in quality background.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read micrometres, calipers and similar measuring equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations in the production line control with adherence to orders and samples.
• Inspect incoming materials for conformance to drawings and specifications.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials and label them properly.
• Support QA leader/engineer in defect control and analysis.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) for new product runs.
• Drive process improvements and 5S activities with the extended team.

Job description

1) Run the day-to-day operations in the production line control plants with regard to:

a)First piece inspection shall be carried out strictly in accordance with, production work order, engineering sample or customer sample, engineering controlled drawing, and make relevant identification and record.

b)To be responsible in controlling & monitoring the production parameter compliance, incoming, online & offline former compliance.

c)Ensure on production line setup by tool / equipment setup verification, SOP setup and verification, material setup and ensure all operators are certified for respective roles.

d)Perform, generate inspection reports and quality control reports.

e)Inspection and maintenance of measuring tools and instruments

2 ) To ensure the incoming materials are inspected in compliance with work instruction, specification, or customer requirements.

a) Inspect incoming raw materials and mechanical parts, mark and complete appropriate documents to ensure conformance with drawing requirements, specifications and internal target set.

b) Summarize the incoming material status of the previous day, reported approved and pending approved, returned, and defective returned goods.

c) Verification of marked components and the ability to distinguish between part markings, date codes, and lot codes.

3) To ensure all the non-conforming materials or parts (incoming, in-process or outgoing) are properly segregated and labelled.

a) Summarize the abnormality of the shift and follow up pending issues.

b) Identify issues / corrective actions on a real-time basis.

c) To perform internal & external site sorting when there’s quality issues found.

4. Provide support to QA leader / engineer for any defect control and defect analysis.

5. Understand terminology used in work instructions.

6. Monitoring on quality of output.

7. Ensure corrective actions are completed on a timely basis.

8. First article inspection (FAI) for each new product run.

9. Issues resolution by manage or elevate issues impacting team and communicate to supervisor.

10. Work with extended team to identify and execute process improvements and 5S actions.

11. Accept and provide support on the arrangement of QA technician on the job distribution.

12. Undertake other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the company from time to time with on time full closure.

13. Support and answer on the job roles during audit.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of working experience in quality background.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to use and read micrometres, callipers, electronic test, and other measuring equipment is add advantage.

Candidate must possess Advanced Diploma / Diploma in any field.

Possess good staying power with ability to work under minimum supervision.
