Job summary

Greatech Group in Penang, Malaysia invites a detail-oriented QA Inspector to monitor daily quality inspections on parts received and ensure all specifications are met. You will cover vendor incoming raw material inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection, coordinating with production for continuous improvement.

The role requires 0–2 years in metal fabrication quality inspection, with good knowledge of welding requirements and measurement instruments (bore gauge, height gauges, CMM).

Qualifications

• Certificate/diploma in Welding/Welding Inspection/Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent.
• 0–2 years in hands-on quality inspection of fabrication on metal works, welding inspection preferred.
• Good understanding of welding requirements and non-destructive test processes.
• Able to assist MW QA engineer to establish general inspection plan, identify measuring instruments needed.
• Plan for future project needs through project review.
• Able to operate measuring equipment such as bore gauge, roughness tester, electronic height gauge, CMM.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily quality inspections on parts received to ensure specifications are met.

• Monitor tools and equipment condition, QA room environmental controls and calibration activities.
• Verify calibration certificates and update calibration stickers as required.
• Collaborate with production for issue investigation and process improvement.
• Assist QA Engineer on data collection and weekly KPI reporting.

Job description

• To monitor daily quality inspection on parts received, ensure specification & process requirements are met.
• Area of coverage may include vendor incoming raw material inspection, set-up buy-off, in-process inspection, out-going inspection.
• Monitor tools and equipment condition, QA room temperature and humidity tracking.
• Monitor and support on external & internal calibration activities arrangement, calibration certificate verification & calibration sticker(s) updating.
• Verification on the issue feedback by inspector or technician. Communication with production for improvement.
• Communicate with the internal customer to investigate & solve issues.
• Assist team on MW product requirement establishment.
• Assist QA Engineer on quality data collection and data analysis for the weekly KPI reporting or any other investigation and study.
• To assist QA Engineer on daily job arrangement. Ensure all daily assignment(s) are completed within required time frame.
• Resource utilization and future capacity planning.
• To lead and supervise the inspection team performance, identify team weakness, provide guidance and drive for improvement.
• Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
• To comply to all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.

Job Requirements:

• Certificate/diploma in Welding/Welding Inspection/Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing or or equivalent years of related experience.
• Preferably 0 to 2 years working experience in hands-on quality inspection of fabrication on Metal Works, welding inspection.
• Good understanding on welding requirement, non-destructive test process, engineering drawing & tolerance.
• Able to assist MW QA engineer to establish general inspection plan, identify measuring instruments needed.
• Plan for future project needs thru project review.
• Able to operate measuring equipment such as bore gauge, roughness tester, electronic height gauge, CMM, etc.
