Job summary

EVOL Technologies Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a QA/QC Engineer to plan, implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control systems across engineering, fabrication and site activities. You will support project execution by conducting inspections, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement of quality systems.

Candidate should have professional engineering experience, ISO/TS 29001/ISO 9000 familiarity, and a minimum of three years in a similar role.

Job description

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems to ensure that all products, services, and processes comply with company standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes. The role supports project execution by conducting inspections, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement of quality systems across engineering, fabrication, and site activities. This role is also expected to undertake ad-hoc tasks as directed by the superior or management.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Process Improvement

Design, develop and implement best quality practices and process for product development.

Maintain, monitor and ensure highest quality in services or products.

Design and develop forms and instructions for evaluating, assessing, reporting and documenting on quality standards in products or services.

Develop and initiate quality standards for test, inspections and evaluations.

Develop strategies to evaluate precision and accuracy of analytical equipment, test and measurement and production equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to quality control aspects.

Leadership & Training

Lead, direct and assist technical professionals staff and measuring and testing a products or a services.

Train staff, technician and professionals on the aspects of quality control activities.

Data, Reporting & Documentation

Tabulate and documents data relating to products, process materials.

Research, study, compile and prepare material on quality control activities, process and procedures.

Follow up on action items and maintain status register.

QA/QC Checks & Compliance

Identify non conformance and take preventive and corrective actions.

Performs QA/QC Checks, audits and reviews.

Communicate to respective team the QA System and monitor the implementation.

Assists as necessary the Engineering department in the evaluation and correction of specific quality control problems and issues

Ensuring that all test reports are verified to meet the contract requirements.

Internal inspection and after verifying the work done, raise Inspection for client/consultant Inspection.

Basic coating overview & surface preparation before coating apply.

Experience in managing vendors, suppliers, in source inspection, expediting and receiving inspection.

General Duties

Perform other duties as and when assigned or requested.

Authorities

Carry out QA/QC inspections, audits, and testing within approved procedures and standards.

Approve test plans, inspection plans, and QA documentation within scope of responsibility.

Recommend corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.

Liaise with production engineers, third-party inspectors, vendors, and clients on quality-related issues.

Monitor implementation of QA/QC systems and communicate updates to relevant teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Professional engineer with a broad QA experience in Design, Construction and Project management.

Experience

Candidate should have a minimum of three years experience in similar role.

Management experience in establishment, operation and maintenance of quality management system in accordance with ISO/TS 29001/ISO 9000 with the capability of developing quality system, quality plans, work procedures and inspection plans.

Languages

Good command of English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

Good knowledge in codes and standards such as ASME and API.

Good knowledge in steel fabrication and welding technology.

Able to work independently to produce inspection test plan, welding procedures and capability to liaise with production engineer, third party inspectors and clients.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

Knowledge in ISO based Quality Management.

Extensive relevant experience in onshore oil andss gas facility construction.

Hardworking and hands on, must be excited with challenging projects.

Good working attitude, self-motivated, keen learner and able to analyze complex situation.

Able to read P& ID and GA drawing.

Preferable fluent in English, Malay and Mandarin

Excellent communications and inter-personal / leadership skills are essential.
