Job summary

Newbillion Precision Metal Sdn. Bhd. in Batu Kawan, Penang, seeks a QA Supervisor to lead quality control across manufacturing operations.

You will oversee QC staff, ensure products meet stringent standards, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams. The role requires 3–5 years in quality control/assurance, 1–2 years in supervision, and strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, CAPA, NCR, FMEA and 8D methodologies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in manufacturing.
• 1–2 years of supervisory/ team lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, CAPA, NCR, FMEA, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto and 8D.

Responsibilities

• Supervise QC Inspectors and QC Technicians in daily quality control activities.
• Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspections per control plans and customer requirements.
• Monitor defect trends, rework, and non-conforming products.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, NCR, CAPA and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and QMS documentation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on findings.
• Manage customer complaints and supplier quality issues; ensure timely resolutions.
• Prepare and analyze quality reports and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive improvements.
• Train and coach QC personnel to improve competency and quality awareness.

About the role

We are seeking a QA Supervisor to join Newbillion Precision Metal Sdn Bhd in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our quality assurance standards across manufacturing operations. As QA Supervisor, you will oversee quality control processes, lead a team of quality assurance personnel, and ensure that all products meet our rigorous standards and customer requirements. This role is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts product excellence, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead QC Inspectors and QC Technicians in daily quality control activities.

Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities according to control plans, drawings, SOPs, and customer requirements.

Monitor product quality performance, defect trends, rejection, rework, and non-conforming products.

Lead containment, root cause analysis, NCR, CAPA, and corrective action activities for quality issues.

Ensure effective implementation and compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 and Quality Management Systems.

Maintain and ensure proper control of quality procedures, inspection records, reports, and documentation.

Coordinate and support internal, external, certification, and customer audits, including follow-up of audit findings.

Manage customer complaints and supplier quality issues and ensure timely resolution.

Prepare and analyze quality reports, including defect trends, rejection rates, customer complaints, and quality KPIs.

Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to identify quality risks and drive continuous improvement.

Train, coach, and evaluate QC personnel to improve technical competency and quality awareness.

Ensure quality issues are effectively addressed and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or equivalent.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory / team leader experience is preferred.

Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, CAPA, NCR, FMEA, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and 8D.

Experience in CNC machining, sheet metal, contract manufacturing, or assembly is preferred.

Experience in semiconductor or medical device manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
