Tong Young Food Industries Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a QA & R&D Executive to own product specifications, R&D documentation, technical documentation and quality coordination.
This office-based role works closely with our R&D team, suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure accurate specifications, packaging information and documentation across international markets. Fresh graduates are welcome, with 1–3 years QA/R&D experience being advantageous.
We are looking for a QA & R&D Executive to join our growing food business and take ownership of product specifications, R&D documentation, technical documentation and quality-related coordination.
Our business works with established international brands and customers, and we have developed food products that are supplied and shipped to international markets. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to commercial food products, international customer requirements and the technical standards expected in export markets.
This is primarily an office-based role, working closely with our R&D team, suppliers, customers and manufacturing partners to ensure that product specifications, formulations, packaging information and technical documentation are accurate, complete and up to date.

You will be exposed to the full documentation cycle of food products — from product development and ingredient selection through to commercialization and international shipment.
Prepare, maintain and update finished product specifications and technical specification sheets.
Maintain raw material and ingredient specifications.
Review and verify ingredient declarations, allergen information, nutritional information, shelf life, storage conditions and other product information.
Ensure product specifications are consistent with approved formulations, packaging artwork and actual product requirements.
Maintain proper document control, revision history and version control.
Review customer‑specific technical requirements and complete technical questionnaires and documentation.
Support preparation and review of technical documentation required for international customers and export markets.
Prepare and maintain product formulation, trial and sample evaluation records.
Document product trials, product changes and development activities.
Coordinate documentation between R&D, suppliers, customers and manufacturing partners.
Maintain records of product approvals, revisions and changes.
Ensure all required technical documents are completed before products are commercialized.
Support the documentation and technical coordination of products developed for established brands and international markets.
Collect, review and maintain supplier technical documents, including:
Product specifications
Certificates of Analysis (COA)
Halal certificates
Food safety / quality certificates
Relevant laboratory reports and supporting documents
Monitor document validity and follow up with suppliers for updated certificates and documents.
Maintain an organized supplier and ingredient documentation database.
Identify missing or inconsistent supplier information and follow up for clarification or supporting documentation.
Support the company in maintaining food quality and safety documentation.
Coordinate with external manufacturing partners on QA and technical matters.
Assist with product, packaging and label information reviews.
Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate corrective actions.
Support customer audits, supplier audits and technical documentation requests when required.
Support documentation requirements relating to international customers and export markets.
Keep up to date with relevant food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with Sales, R&D, Procurement and Management to ensure technical information is accurate and available.
Respond to customer technical documentation requests.
Follow up with suppliers and manufacturing partners on outstanding documents and technical matters.
Coordinate technical information required for product launches and customer approvals.
Maintain an organized and traceable filing system for all QA and R&D records.
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, Chemistry or a related field.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; 1–3 years of relevant QA/R&D experience in the food industry is an advantage.
Good understanding of food ingredients, food safety, allergens and product specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good documentation and organizational skills.
Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, Word and other documentation systems.
Good written and spoken English.
Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and external manufacturing partners.
Able to work independently, follow up on outstanding matters and meet deadlines.
Proactive, responsible and willing to learn.
Candidates with exposure to food manufacturing, product development, export documentation or international customer requirements will have an added advantage.

You should enjoy working with documents, specifications and technical information, while also being genuinely interested in how food products are developed, manufactured and brought to market.
