Job summary

Tong Young Food Industries Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a QA & R&D Executive to own product specifications, R&D documentation, technical documentation and quality coordination.

This office-based role works closely with our R&D team, suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure accurate specifications, packaging information and documentation across international markets. Fresh graduates are welcome, with 1–3 years QA/R&D experience being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, Chemistry or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; 1–3 years of relevant QA/R&D experience in the food industry is an advantage.
• Good understanding of food ingredients, food safety, allergens and product specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and update finished product specifications and technical specification sheets.
• Maintain raw material and ingredient specifications.
• Review and verify ingredient declarations, allergen information, nutritional information, shelf life, storage conditions and other product information.
• Ensure product specifications are consistent with approved formulations, packaging artwork and actual product requirements.
• Maintain proper document control, revision history and version control.
• Review customer‑specific technical requirements and complete technical questionnaires and documentation.
• Support preparation and review of technical documentation required for international customers and export markets.
• Prepare and maintain product formulation, trial and sample evaluation records.
• Document product trials, product changes and development activities.
• Coordinate documentation between R&D, suppliers, customers and manufacturing partners.
• Maintain records of product approvals, revisions and changes.
• Ensure all required technical documents are completed before products are commercialized.
• Support the documentation and technical coordination of products developed for established brands and international markets.
• Collect, review and maintain supplier technical documents, including: Product specifications, COA, Halal certificates, Food safety / quality certificates, Relevant laboratory reports and supporting documents
• Monitor document validity and follow up with suppliers for updated certificates and documents.
• Maintain an organized supplier and ingredient documentation database.
• Identify missing or inconsistent supplier information and follow up for clarification or supporting documentation.
• Coordinate QA and Food Compliance with external manufacturing partners; assist with product, packaging and label information reviews; support audits.
